Wine and cava
More than eight centuries
Caves Bohigas is a family winery from Òdena with over 800 years of history and with a staff of 14 people. They make cava and wine using different grape varieties they obtain in their more than 89 hectares of vineyard divided between Can Macià and Can Batllevell. They grow native grape varieties such as Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada (over 50 years old), and also Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for some types of cava. They have expanded the type of varieties with the Garnatxa Blanca and the Muscat (both Mediterranean) and with the French Chenin Blanc.
650,000 bottles a year are produced in the company wineries: approximately 560,000 of cava and 90,000 of wine. Between 80% and 90% of production is distributed abroad through a consortium created 13 years ago with other wineries. Bohigas has diversified its range by entering the wine tourism sector.
